We Build Teams that Win
The Louisiana Training Platform is a digital learning hub designed to make complex science education accessible statewide. Developed by LSU researchers, LTP reflects a collaborative effort to expand access to cutting-edge bioinformatics training across Louisiana and beyond.
LSU’s Coastal Roots program gives students hands-on experience growing and planting trees to restore Louisiana’s coast. It reduces flooding, supports wildlife, and teaches responsibility, showing students how small actions create lasting environmental impact.
Known as the Sportsman’s Paradise, Louisiana’s identity is built on its deep connection to the environment and animals. However, that environment is both its greatest asset and its biggest vulnerability. The warm climate, wetlands, and frequent storms that support its wildlife and agriculture also fuel disease spread, animal displacement, and ongoing health risks, placing the state at the center of two major veterinary challenges.
Two faculty members from the LSU College of Science, Peter Doran and Bret Elderd, and Lucio Miele, Director of the LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center, have been named Fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, joining the prestigious 2025 class.

Across Louisiana, 336 LSU Health students celebrated Match Day, with nearly half staying in-state for residency. As physician shortages grow, LSU continues training and retaining doctors while placing graduates in top programs nationwide.
